"Peace and Development within and between People, Groups, Organisations and Nations"

Frida Kristina Nilsson

Consultant in Leadership and Organizational change

Licensed Psychologist, Specialised in
Worklife Psychology

A feedback I often get from clients is that I am calm, curious and daring enough to challenge organisations to achieve real change. I first help them figure out what their biggest challenges are. After that, I can effectively help them move forward to find solutions. I have strong faith in the competence of the leaders and personal to find solutions together – they may just need a helping hand to work creatively together.

Over the years, I have supported many management teams through leadership team development programs, tailored in close collaboration with the client. I have, among other things, worked for the Swedish Central Bank, and supported nearly 20 directors generals in the government’s training program for newly appointed directors generals. As an internationally trained mediator, I have coached the women in Sweden’s Women’s Mediation Network.

Change management is a challenge for many leaders and I have worked with this at several state run hospitals. I believe it is wise to involve staff in organisational changes in various settings to find the smoothest solutions to complex issues together. I can help you decide when to involve who for the best possible outcome

In crises I have assisted large cultural institutions (accute leadership crisis) and schools (school attacks, accidents) turn acute crisis situations into opportunities for collective development at the same time as the emotional impact is cared for.

Finally, I have worked on designing leadership programs both in government agencies and with private organisations.

I strive to create a dynamic, innovative, and successful work environment for your organisation. A place where skilled employees do great work, enjoy it and want to stay on. Tell me more about you and your organisation to help me understand how I can support specifically you. If you are interested to know more about how I work, read about it under "Cases"

Based on research:
Your emotions can be your greatest driving force – or your biggest pitfall

I base my work and my books on solid research. Two concepts that are important for every leader to grasp are psychological safety and intrinsic motivation

Both psychological safety and intrinsic motivation – whose importance for an effective group and a positive working environment has been extensively researched – ultimately come down to emotions. When you learn to lead in sync with your emotions, and understand your co-workers, you will build great work-life relationships across differences. I help you work together to develop in the right direction, whether you are in a good stable place or in a more challenging situation today.

Read below some testimonies of people I have supported in different ways.

Management Group Development with Frida:

I have been working with Frida Nilsson at several occasions. First as a deputy head of the department of monetary policy at different occasions and also as head of monetary policy department in the management group of the Riksbank. At all occasions it has been very good. Always well structured, innovative, from “wh'´s best for the group”-perspective and interesting.

Every session with Frida has resulted in a movement forward for the group as a whole, and we have learned and been able to practice new tools like After Action Review etc. I have met many management consultants and Frida is one of the best. She does not do “death by power point”, rather practises in the group. She also listens to the group and adapts when she goes along.

Books and E-learning Platform:
Learn to understand the proper functions of the basic emotions, and use them to lead both yourself and others with strength

My book Swedish Leadership – Lead with Curiosity and Joy

offers practical advice for strengthening emotional intelligence, work relationships, and how to use this in

self-leadership and organisational development. I’ve often been told that my approach—starting from the seven basic emotions—offers new perspectives on leadership, even for very experienced leaders.

The seven core emotions are Curiosity, Joy, Surprise, Anger, Fear, Sadness, and last but not least, Shame. Many leadership theories are essentially about how to manage these emotions. My model is a unique way of starting from the core: how emotions guide human behaviour, and how you as a leader can help your team reach the right emotional states together in order to work effectively.

The books Own your emotions and A Tiny book about massive emotions

focus more on mental health showing that all mental problems can be explained as an excess or shortage of the basic emotions. Take a look at the page about the books to learn more.

E-learning platform

For those who want more than merely a book, our e-learning platform offers solid programs for both leaders and those interested in mental health issues in schools, as parents or as private persons.
